Careers Information
The Career Education Program at Picnic Point High School involves students attending Careers Education lessons and also taking part in a Work Experience Program. Areas covered by this program include:
- The compilation of a “Work Preparation Folder” (Resume, References, School Reports, Certificates, Proof of Age etc)
- Completion of a Research Assignment (Helping students explore in depth several different career options)
- Completion of a Practical Assignment (Students demonstrate elementary applied skills in their preferred career)
- Class Involvement (Discussions and lessons centred around employment related skills, tips for interviews, the reality of work, job applications, expectations of employers, finding work, TAFE / UNI / Employment, HSC and advice on subject selection
