About Us
Support Unit
- The staff of Picnic Point High School’s Support Unit aim to provide learning support and appropriate educational programs to students who require extra assistance at school.
- Students are enrolled into the Special Education Unit as a result of having a determined intellectual disability. The students are selected to enrol in the classes at a district level, this is after the parents/caregivers have applied to come to Picnic Point High School Support Unit; the school itself is not involved in the enrolment selection.
- We have three classes of students with an intellectual disability at Picnic Point High School:
- One I.M class. (Mild intellectual disability) Maximum of 18 students per class.
- Two I.O classes. (Moderate intellectual disability) Maximum 10 students per class.
